Security Cameras & UniFi Network for an Oil Plant in Sudbury

The Challenge

A fuel company had just bought an oil plant in the Sudbury area and needed security and a working network in place quickly so the site could operate safely under the new ownership.

The plant is about four hours north of our Kitchener office, so the job had to be planned well ahead and finished in one trip, with the cameras and network fully working before we left.

Our Approach

We planned the whole install before arriving on site, then set up the cameras and the network together so everything runs on one secure, managed system.

Camera system

• 32 Hikvision cameras covering the plant, indoors and out
• 96 TB of storage for 30 days of continuous recording
• Live view and playback from phone or computer, from anywhere

UniFi network

• UniFi firewall protecting the site’s internet connection
• UniFi switches powering and connecting the cameras and office equipment
• UniFi WiFi for staff and devices across the site
• Remote management, so we can support the site without driving up

The Result

In just one week, the new owner had full camera coverage, a month of recorded footage and a fast, secure network across the plant. Because the system is managed remotely, most support can be handled without a site visit.
