137-Camera Security System for a GTA Grocery Store

The Challenge

When this large GTA grocery store changed ownership, the new owner wanted a security system they could fully trust. The site covers about 14 acres, with a sales floor, warehouse, storage areas, fridges, offices, loading docks and parking, and the existing setup did not give them the coverage or recording time they needed.

About half of the store has ceilings around 40 feet high, which makes camera placement, cabling and long-term servicing much harder than a typical retail install.

Our Approach

We started with a full site survey and divided the property into 4 main zones based on the building structure, broken down into 8 camera zones. Every zone was planned around what the owner needed to see, so there are no blind spots between areas.

Built for reliability

• Three NVRs sharing the load, so if one fails the others keep recording
• 240 TB of storage for 60 days of continuous recording
• Lift work and cable routing for the 40-foot ceilings
• Installed over about 6 weeks while the store stayed open

The Result

The owner now has 137 cameras covering the entire site from parking lot to loading dock, two months of footage on hand, and no single point of failure in recording. Each zone can be reviewed on its own, which makes it fast to find footage for any area of the store.
